People Awards 2026 Winner for Outstanding Contribution of The Year — The Red Knights International Firefighter Club England 4 Chapter

Our Story
England 4 was formed by firefighter motorcycle enthusiasts and has grown into a chapter defined by loyalty, charity, remembrance and riding together.
Who We Are
England 4 Chapter of the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club was officially established on 26th July 2020 by a group of passionate firefighter motorcycle enthusiasts.
"Loyal to Our Duty" — it is more than just a phrase, it is a core belief at the centre of every Red Knight, and none more so than England 4.
However the story of England 4 began long before that at Colchester Fire Station when the members of White Watch, Fiasco and Rock Dwarf, first met and began discussing the idea of becoming Fire Bikers. Unfortunately this fell through, which was when The Red Knights International Motorcycle Club happened upon these firefighters. After initially looking to become Members at Large (MALs), an alternative was put forward when Fiasco took over correspondence with the Red Knights.
Other members of Colchester White Watch, Party Guy, Cabbage, Deadshot and Regulator took an interest, as well as Monster from another station's White Watch, and it was put forward that with the seven necessary members, Red Knights England 4 could be born. After sitting down at Great Bentley Bike Night, the group voted and elected their board members, and the club was born.
The chapter was formed with the goal of comradeship in riding, and the idea of riding for charity fundraising. Little did those early members know what England 4 would become.
It was 21st May 2022 that Fran invited the Red Knights down to the living memorial that the first discussions were held regarding the construction of the Red Plaque Fire Service Memorial, and hence England 4 took their role and joined to become part of The Living Memorial.
England 4 would later go on to grow massively, and fundraise for various causes close to our hearts, including in 2023 - 2024 raising £3,157 for the Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity's Rosemary Suite, a vital baby bereavement unit.
In May 2024, at the annual National Firefighters Memorial Day, we were finally able to unveil what we had spent so many hours working on. The National Red Plaque Fire Service Memorial. A Museum, Memorial Wall and Statue dedicated to The Fire Service staff who gave their lives for their community.
On the international stage, England 4 stepped up to represent our community and our country in various events, including EuCon meetings, as well as various events throughout Belgium, Italy and Austria.
Moving forward, we have no intention of slowing down, and already have begun the construction of the next wall and other such aspects of the memorial site, and look forward to attending the next Red Knights events held throughout the world.
Red Knights can often be found at Fire Station Open Days, and other community events. So if you are interested in finding out more, or perhaps joining us, please reach out. And if you see us about, please come and say hi.
Our mission as Red Knights goes beyond the road; it's about making a real impact in the communities we serve. This fundraising effort truly reflects the compassion and generosity of our members and everyone in the community who donated, and we're proud to stand together for such a meaningful cause.
